nooo story about grotesque horrors and suffering don’t pivot tonally so you can wrap your story up in a nice little bow, forcing something so saccharine it doesn’t even feel like a release of tension but rather like an unnerving and heavy blanket being thrown over the mess to hide it away while you force us to look at the bright side

#not this horror fic suddenly going #actually everyone in this story is quite nice except for an off screen villain #and now that we’ve cleared that up all tension will be sucked out of the narrative #wei ying is being haunted by xue yang of all people but actually XY was quite nice when he was alive #WHAT?#JGY and XY worked together but were good??#this story started off with bodies being hung like butchers meat #and now has flashbacks to puppy piles #how is this satisfying #wei ying got kissed and suddenly stopped being haunted #the first half of this story was about him waking up surrounded by gore like??????????#THE TONAL SHIFT?????#XY loved both xingchen and song lan?? UH NO HE DIDNT #XY was torturing wei ying but apparently his polyamorous bfs wouldnt let him #and now its all soft and cute #HUH
